Smoking Not Permitted In European Hospitals
Use of tobacco is prohibited in hospitals in many European countries, but degrees of compliancy with this regulation differ.
A study followed up by research workers from the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) shows for the first time that exposure to environmental tobacco smoke in European infirmaries is "low", and "without any notable differences" between them.
Europe is aiming to stop smoking in all closed public places and banned by 2012.
Nevertheless, to date just ten European countries – Spain is not among them – are using this new standard comprehensively.
